Hydrowatt Abruzzo

Hydrowatt Abruzzo SpA is a private-public joint venture where Hydrowatt S.p.A. holds 60% of the stock and the remaining 40% is held by Azienda Consortile Acquedottistica SpA.

ACA covers 64 municipalities in the province of Pescara and is the operator of integrated water services for the ATO 4 Pescara area, supplying over 500,000 residential users.
Hydrowatt Abruzzo operates in the renewable energy sources sector in the Abruzzo region, investing in the construction and subsequent long-term management of hydroelectric plants on aqueducts and irrigation canals.

In June 2006, in order to support the development plan that involved consistent investment to construct new hydroelectric plants, the shareholders decided on and financed a pro rata increase in paid-up share capital. The share capital is now €655,000.

The R&D activities conducted in close cooperation with the technical department of Hydrowatt Spa, have enabled the company to identify further potential for developing electricity production from renewable sources.
